On this eve of a New Year, this is an optimistic piece that brings hope in a world that often wreaks of discouragement and hopelessness. There are always “silver linings” amid any woe. Unfortunately, while immersed in said sorrows, sufferings, heartache or misfortune, the silver lining is difficult to see. Often it is only after it’s passing or if we are fortunate, in the process, that we become sensitive to the tender mercies, the learning process, the sagacity of it all. An arduous but enriching experience.
